I Assure You IF You DO NOT Set Goals, You Will NOT Reach Them - 09/03/20091.) You will generate repeat business with your Current Guests AND 2.) You will generate Positive Word-of-Mouth Advertising to attract their family and friends. You have to set goals and service objectives. What is the difference between a goal and an objective? A goal is a statement of Company Policy and part of your Mission Statement. Objectives are quantitative and Quantitative Standards are what you use to measure the performance of your Employees. For example, the goal of a Family Restaurant might be: "To provide Exceptional Service and fantastic Food, so our Guests will rave about our Restaurant to their family and friends, which will increase our sales and build our business through Word-of-Mouth Advertising. Also, to keep our current Customers from trying the competition." One objective that you might set up to measure your performance might be to greet each Guest as soon as they enter the Restaurant. Keep in mind that you need very specific goals and objectives with high standards. As you and your Employees work on the above objectives and increase the level of Customer Service, you increase the possibilities of Exceeding the Expectations of the guest and improve the opportunities for Positive Word-of-Mouth Advertising.
