RMG - Birthday Marketing Promotions - 08/13/2009

RMG has invested thousands of dollars in direct mail equipment and software. We have our own "in-house" printing and mail shop, right here at RMG. Postcards are printed and mailed right here from our Direct Mail department to help our customers generate traffic into their restaurants by sending direct mail campaigns for them. This allows them to get bulk-mail rate and to send their mailings, without having to own a bulk mail permit or own any special equipment.

We recently sent a "Saturation Birthday Mailing" for one of our customers. We lease a list of names of people living in the neighborhood, surrounding the restaurant who are having birthdays in a specific month. With this list, we sent out 200 mail pieces (or any number you desire.) The restaurant offered a free entree to the person having the birthday that month. They had 49 birthday cards get redeemed out of 200 - almost a 25% response! Once we subtracted the food cost from the birthday person's meal, and the food costs of their guests, it turned out that the restaurant earned $882 in new additional profit.

It made a great impression on the customers that a restaurant would give them a birthday meal for free. The people who came in were really glad to be there. Most importantly, they exposed well over 100 people to the restaurant with this simple promotion - many of whom had never been there before. The owner of the restaurant was really impressed with the results and so was the accountant.
