Real Marketing Research on a Budget - 05/31/2009Here are a few simple approaches to getting the information you need to stay ahead of the competition: Idea # 1 - Keep it simple. Find out where people heard about you whenever they call or walk in the restaurant. Set up a notebook at the front desk. Review this information with your staff. Idea # 2 - Word-of-mouth business, that doesn't mean it's out of your hands. It simply means you market your business by thanking the people who spread your good news! Encourage more! Send thanks, discount or savings certificates, and free dinners. Let them know you appreciate their kind words! Idea # 3 - Have lunch often with a variety of customers. One-on-one is fine or as a monthly group "thank you" lunch is easy. Offer customers lunch, a little helpful information, and a small gift for their time. Your goal is building rapport while gathering valuable information. If you want others to value what you have to sell, you need to know what they value! Back to Top Other Entries |
